Guess its been a while, 06/25/2013

A little bored tonight and cant really motivate myself to do anything so I thought I would write a little and see what happens.

Whats been happening...

Finished the second semester of the masters program, waiting for one last grade to come back in the ethics class, might mean the difference between holding my 4.0 and and A-.  The other class was kinda a waste of time and a little frustrating that I had to pay for it, but a nice way to pad the GPA, an easy 96%.  So hopefully that essay goes over as well as the rest and I can be three courses down with a (first ever) perfect record.

The new chain for my motorcycle came in, just in time because now the headlight isn't working.  I love the bike and riding here is great with the weather.  Even when it rains, it really hasn't been that bad and easy to plan around.  But its almost impossible to keep the fucking bike running without something going out.  I was really hoping with the chain, that everything would be up to spec for a little while at least.  Part of me is tempted to just go back to the stock setup and call it a day... So now until I can figure out the problem I have to make sure that I am back before dark as I dont want to get stuck out without lights... and back to the bicycle for everything else.  Yea for (ever more) exercise.

I guess the big thing is that I have started training for a new job.  I am a support diver for an underwater tourism company.  The company operates 'BOBs', breather observation bubbles, or underwater scooters for those unable to scuba dive or snorkel.  Basically you pay like $100 to ride an underwater scooter while getting pushed around by a scuba diver (me) and your picture taken with a couple fish. Today was my third day, second in the water.  We had to cancel after about half the people went because the current was too strong and it was impossible to handle the BOBs underwater, you have to be careful since the boat is moored, not to get pushed too far past the boat or you will have to struggle your ass off to get the BOB back.  Even with the little drive fan/prop it doesn't always put out enough thrust to compensate for the current.  Because I was working so hard, I didn't really notice that I was almost out of air and when I got on the boat I had something like 0-50 bar left in the tank, not good.

So far I have seen a bunch of turtles, some fish, and today there was a reef shark out and about until it was swarmed by the divers in the area looking for something to look at.  There isnt much on the reef where we moor, so while cool to look at, it was gone pretty fast.

I am going to be out there pretty much every day this week, which worked out well since this is the week between semesters for CSPP and then going to a 3/4 day a week schedule starting next week.  This would be a pretty cool side gig to work out while living here. Going to finally work on that sweet tan I have been trying for since I got here.
